Saks Dept. Stores adds Eskenasi

BIRMINGHAM, AL —

Peggy Eskenasi has been promoted to president of private brand and product development, a new position, for Saks Inc.'s Saks Department Store Group (SDSG).

She will continue to lead the SDSG private brand organization and report to George Jones, president and ceo of SDSG. Eskenasi joined the company in January 1997 as senior vp of private label and brand development and was promoted to executive vp in June 1999. She previously held a variety of merchandising positions at Frederick Atkins, a New York-based buying cooperative, from 1980 to 1996.
