Foster joins Pamida

OMAHA, NE — Tom Foster has joined Pamida as vp, dmm of home. In his new position, Foster will report to Jim Alvord, senior vp, gmm, home.

Foster is responsible for domestics, electronics, housewares and ready-to-assemble furniture, as well as creating more synergy with his parent company ShopKo. He had been gmm, home and mens at Proffitt's.

"Tom is a veteran of fashion merchandising in a number of home categories," Alvord told HTT. "With a wealth of experience in department stores, this is his first foray in discount."

Pamida is upgrading its linens and domestics, Alvord added, and Tom will "get us to a new level, with his merchandise awareness and his ability to trend timely product to home."

Foster replaces Pat Schlosser, who left to pursue other interests.
