West Long Branch, N.J. —
Memory foam manufacturer Sleep Innovations is moving fabricating production from its facility in Elkhart, Ind. to its foam pouring plant in West Chicago, Ill.
"With this consolidation, we will now be able to save on production time, reduce transportation cost, and eliminate duplicate positions," said Gary Wahrmund, coo, Sleep Innovations, noting the "net savings for the company will be significant."
The West Chicago production site was acquired by Sleep Innovations in 2007 when it purchased the Prime Foam division of Leggett & Platt, the company said.
Sleep Innovations reiterated its commitment to maintaining its Made In America label, and emphasized that it continues to make 100% of its memory foam domestically. The company said cost-cutting measures such as this consolidation are "an essential part of Sleep Innovations strategy to be the low-cost provider of high quality memory foam in the United States."
