Tessile Inc. opens new showroom

NEW YORK -Just in time for February's mini-market, Tessile Inc. has opened the doors of its new showroom.
Suite 1616 at 295 Fifth Avenue now houses the manufacturer's complete quilt line, which will be displayed on six beds. The table linens line and some of its crafts will also be on display on floor models and racks, said Towner Lapp, national sales manager. The move was completed on Feb. 1.
"We felt we'd be able to draw better attention from the retail trade with a permanent showroom," said Lapp about the decision to acquire the new 1,700-square-foot space. "We felt we needed a place in order to show our line effectively."
Lapp said while the amount of traffic at the Javits Center for the twice-a-year Home Textiles Show was good, it was somewhat constricting since Tessile was unable to show its complete line year-round to buyers. Although the company has its offices in Brooklyn, NY, it had no facilities to accommodate prospective clients. Company sales representatives had traveled to buyers' home offices to show off the line and set up displays in conference rooms or wherever space was available.
"You really can't romance your products in a buyer's office to full advantage," Lapp said. "The ambience, the lighting, etc., give us the ability to present the line well."
We would love your feedback!
