Anderson, S.C. —
Domestic woven area rug manufacturer Orian Rugs is gearing up for its 30th anniversary in business come 2009 with the soon-to-come debut of its new "Goin' Green" campaign.
In a renewed effort to become more environmentally friendly, the company is taking several new steps toward sustainability related to various aspects of its business.
"We are planning a year-long celebration," said Wim De Pape, coo. "And in conjunction with our anniversary, Orian is also announcing the launch of our company-wide Goin' Green campaign. It will offer every employee the opportunity to do their part for the environment."
Details are still in the works. In other news, the company reinforced its commitment to safety and the health of its employees with its Employee Appreciation Day on Aug. 23 with a company picnic for Orian's staff and their families.
At the event, Orian executives thanked plant employees for 1,000 days of working continuously plant-wide without a lost-time accident.
"With 300 employees onsite and most of the operation working on a 24-hour, seven-days-a-week basis, this is a major achievement and we want to thank every employee and every manager for working hard to make their environment safe," De Pape said.
We would love your feedback!
