High Country Linens Offers Silk Bedding

By Michele SanFilippo -- Home Textiles Today, 11/15/2004 12:00:00 AM

High Country Linens has launched a new silk bedding collection of duvets and comforters featuring silk warp and fill.

A total of 10 designs have been developed, with comforter or duvet sets retailing from $299 to $349.

The company is also offering silk fill or down fill in comforters and blankets, but is extending this to bring in new textures.

In sheeting, the Chinese company introduced a new modern look in jacquards with 25 to 30 mini designs that are textural and detailed. Dainty hem embellishments are also new.

“While the rest of the U.S. market is deconstructing to reach a price point, we are trying to maintain the quality level of our looks,” said Tom Ferrisi, vice president of sales and marketing at High Country Linens.

In addition, Judy Neu joined High Country Linens this past spring as design director. Prior to coming on board, she was vice president of design for decorative pillows and throws at Town & Country for four and a half years. Previously, she was design director for a number of years at Fame, a company that was sold to Covington.

The company may also be looking to move into larger quarters in time for the next New York Home Textiles Market in April 2005.
