SAN FRANCISCO — International Marketing Gallery home (IMG home), a direct importer and manufacturer of home furnishings, announced the arrival of its first shipment of Afghani rugs.
A percentage of the proceeds from the sale of the new rugs will go toward the $2 million IMG home is raising to send blankets and clothing to needy Afghanis.
"I'm excited about the arrival of these rugs, for it marks a new beginning for the people of Afghanistan," said IMG home co-founder and owner Tony Abrahim. "I hope Bay Area residents will take advantage of this opportunity to beautify their homes while helping to revive the Afghan economy in a very personal way."
The new collection features hand-woven designs with vegetable-dyed colors, including pomegranate red, indigo blue, saffron yellow, earth-tone browns and exotic flowers. Also included in the IMG home collection are antiques inspired by old-world Asia. The furnishings include modern and contemporary chairs, as well as handcrafted dining and coffee tables that feature a two-tone wood fusion in chestnut and honey colors.
