Winter market winds down

New York — The winter home textiles market is beginning to wind down today as the remaining retail buyers dash around to last-minute appointments and presentations.

The market saw a number of key introductions and presentations, among them:

— The Cat in the Hat licensed products from Springs' Industries. A broad range of offerings was unveiled, from shaped rugs to sculpted bath accessories to bedding ensembles.

Two complete bed ensembles — Traditional Cat and Denim Cat — are available, as well as several decorative pillows: Cat, Hat and Fish in Teapot. For the bath, both accessories and towels are available. The resin accessory group features a toothbrush holder, lotion/soap pump, tumbler, soap dish, wastebasket, shower hooks and hand mirror. The plastic accessories group has a tumbler, toothbrush holder and soap dish. Two shower curtains are offered and follow the design sense of the two beds. Two towels, printed and embroidered/applique, are also offered.

An assortment of printed and carved bath rugs as well as handmade accent rugs round out the assortment.

— Echo Design Group is expanding its reach through a new licensing agreement with Creative Bath Products. Shower curtains, towels, bathroom accessories and decorative pillows will all be supplied by Creative Bath and its Creative Home Furnishings division, which plans to unveil products in April. The line will be labeled The Echo Design Collection.

Five shower curtains will have fully coordinated accessories. The four bath collections — African Queen, Dancing in the Streets, Hollywood and Tahiti — include coordinating bath accessories, jacquard and embroidered towels and bath mats. The decorative pillows also consist of four collections: Africa Queen, Dancing in the Streets, Sedona and Solid Dupione.
