WestPoint adds two to board of directors

WEST POINT, GA — WestPoint Stevens Inc. announced the addition of Joseph Gladden Jr. and Hicks Lanier to the company's board of directors.

The announcement, which came during WPS' annual meeting, brings the board's membership to nine.

Gladden recently retired from his position as executive vp/general counsel for The Coca-Cola Company, in Atlanta. He also served as vice chairman of the board of directors of Coca-Cola Enterprises Inc.

Gladden began his career with The Coca-Cola Company in 1985 as senior staff counsel and has since served as vp, deputy general counsel, general counsel and senior vp.

Lanier is currently employed by Oxford Industries Inc. as president, chairman and ceo.
