Terrisol adds beach towels to Kids line

Bath and beach towel supplier Terrisol Corp. will soon launch its first open line of juvenile beach towels under the Terrisol Kids label.

The new line is composed of 30" x 60" towels, all constructed of 100 percent cotton and made in Brazil by parent company Karsten.

For the launch, scheduled during next month's mini-market, Terrisol Kids is expected to have 10 to 12 generic designs for boys and girls, as well as some unisex looks. Patterns include sea play, beach buddies, summer friends and leapin' lizards.

"We know the mini-market is not really a towel market, but we want to start previewing this Kids line to buyers," Mary Fileccia, marketing and merchandise manager, told Home Textiles Today. "There is definitely a void in the marketplace for good juvenile beach towels, and we think ours meet that need. They are very fun and spirited."

Price points have not been set, but the Terrisol Kids line will focus on the mid-tier and department store customers, Fileccia said.

Terrisol's existing juvenile beach towels fall under several licensed programs, including Warner Bros., Harry Potter, The Wizard of Oz, DC Comics, NFL, MLB, NHL and collegiate sports teams.

In other Terrisol news, the company recently signed a licensing partnership with artist Wyland to produce a collection of ocean-themed beach towels. Wyland is a well-known artist and sea life conservationist based in Southern California.
