Pacific Designs taps Veratex designer

Los Angeles — Suzy Kain has joined the staff of Pacific Designs as head designer overseeing development of bedding, decorative pillows and tabletop. She was formerly with Veratex as lead designer for three years.

"I've been aware for some time of the great strides this company is making and am glad to be on board. I will work closely with Melodee Taylor, the vp of sales, to develop a well-targeted collection. It is a fantastic team of dedicated, enthusiastic people, and I think our combined strengths will be a huge benefit."

Kain will report directly to Mike Elahi, president.

Previously, she worked for The Silk Trading Co. in San Francisco and Los Angeles designing custom home textiles for residential and contract clients. She entered the home textiles field after 10 years in the apparel industry as a fashion designer.
