Elrene family adds titles

NEW YORK -Elrene Home Fashions, based here, has announced two new top executive promotions.

President Mark Siegel has added ceo to his title. He succeeds Carl Orent, who retired in December after serving the company in several capacities, most recently ceo, for 40 years.

Bryan Siegel, Mark's son, is adding coo to his existing title of executive vp.

Mark's grandfather and father, Jonas and Bernard, respectively, founded Elrene "in the middle of the Great Depression" more than 70 years ago.

After starting out as a product packer and working his way up the ranks, Mark took control of the company in the mid-1980s. He has been with Elrene for 30 years.

Bryan, his oldest of two sons and one daughter, came aboard full-time in July 1994 as a customer service representative.
