Shanghai Homeland Taps Rogers

By Staff -- Home Textiles Today, 9/17/2007 12:00:00 AM

Home textiles veteran Rick Rogers has been hired by Shanghai Homeland Textile to ramp up its U.S. market profile. As managing director of American Homeland Inc., he will work out of Danbury, Ct. and report to parent firm ceo Grand Lu.

"It's a great opportunity," Rogers told HTT. "We're still formulating a strategy, but I think we have the capability of servicing all levels of the market — and that is our ultimate objective."

Rogers spent much of his earlier career at WestPoint Pepperell and WestPoint Stevens, where rose to vp of bed sourcing. He also worked at Comfort Fabrics and Joan Fabrics. In these roles, Rogers gained experience in international sales and sourcing. Shanghai Homeland is a fabric mill that also does cut and sew; 99% of its production is exported, primarily to the U.K. and Europe.
