IFDA showcase on the way; market review coming as well

NEW YORK &#8212l; The International Furnishings and Design Association showcase will take place on May 17 at the Chelsea Hotel in New York City, located at 222 W. 23rd St.

Starting at 9:15 a.m., an international array of product manufacturers and designers will display furniture, lighting, rugs and accessories in room settings. Attendees will get a private, before-hours tour of the exhibits.

Attendees will meet Birgit Lohman, editorial director of designboom.com; Li Edelkoort, European Design Academy Eindhoven; and an editor of Interior Design Magazine.

Also, the IFDA will hold its Spring Domestic Market Review on May 20, covering the New York Home Textiles Market, the New York Tabletop Market, and the High Point International Home Furnishings Market.

The event will begin with a breakfast at 8 a.m. at the New York Merchandise Mart, located at 41 Madison Ave., in the Special Events Room. For reservations, contact IFDA-N.Y. at 212-686-6020.
