At the New York Market -- In addition to showing new fashion bedding designs for its Canon and Royal Velvet licenses this market, Li & Fung is adding new towel and sheet constructions.
Royal Velvet has added a marled towel at $7.99. Its new better-quality towel, Tranquility, is made from long-staple, very thin cotton woven at a slow speed to eliminate the need for a PVA (poly vinyl alcohol) treatment, positioning the $12.99 product as eco-friendly. A pair of jacquard towels, Metro and Oasis, also join the assortment.
Royal Velvet sheeting has added 400-count Egyptian cotton percale at $69.99 for a queen set and 500-count cotton sateen at $89.99 for a queen set. New flannel and jersey sets also debuted.
The brand will expand into bath accessories and table linens for the August market. The $7.99 Legacy towel program is currently rolling out to Mervyn’s and Meijer along with the 350-count sheet sets.
Cannon introduced a Landmark Stripe towel and beach towels in addition to its build-a-towel solid color program. Also new in the brand: kitchen towels, over mitts, pot holders and accessories. In sheeting, a 420-count sateen is new, and Li & Fung is previewing flannel and jersey knit programs.
