Minneapolis – Target Corp.’s Target Plaza on Target Field here in the downtown area opened this past weekend with a celebration that drew Twin City residents.
The summer-themed event featured fast pitch and batting games, live entertainment, photo opportunities with Bullseye the Target mascot, and several kid-friendly activities like decorating baseball pennants.
In attendance were representatives from the Minnesota Twins, Minnesota Ballpark Authority, Target vp of brand marketing Shawn Gensch and several others.
"Our vision for this vibrant, art-filled public space truly has come to life today, and we are honored to be a part of bringing this family-friendly gathering space to our community for people to enjoy for years to come,” said Gensch, who was later joined on-stage by former Minnesota Twins first baseman, Kent Hrbek.
Target Plaza is bedecked with more than 2,000 live plantings - including trees, shrubs, and perennials. The space will be open to visitors 365 days a year – on both game days and non-game days.
