Hellenic creates vp post, appoints Phillips

Brooklyn, NY — Area rug supplier Hellenic Rug Imports has appointed Chris Phillips to the new position of vp. He begins March 1.

Phillips will report to Steve Mazarakis, president, and will be based out of North Central Ohio.

For the past six-and-a-half years, Phillips worked for Dalton, GA-based Shaw Industries in various capacities, most recently as regional manager for the Western United States and all of Canada, based out of Southern California. Prior to that he was an area rug specialist for the Shaw Rugs division and earlier, he worked as a territory manager for the carpet division.

In his new post, Phillips will oversea Hellenic's sales force for the United States as well as help with marketing and product selections.

"We are excited about Chris coming on board," Mazarakis said. "He brings a welcome experience in both furniture and floor coverings and will help us greatly in achieving our goals."
