Washington – An estimated 96.5 million Americans plan to shop online today, which is known as Cyber Monday, and most of them will do their online ordering from home, according to Shop.org, the online retail division of the National Retail Federation.
That BigResearch survey puts last year’s tally of Cyber Monday shoppers at 85 million.
“Online retailers have been working overtime to make sure their Cyber Monday promotions are enticing, so shoppers can expect incredible bargains on popular holiday items, percentages off entire websites, and a lot of free shipping,” said Scott Silverman, executive director of Shop.org.
Roughly 91.5% plan to shop from home, with 13.5% expected to conduct their transactions at work.
