Michael's to open 2nd wholesale concept store

Irving, TX — Craft retailer Michael's Stores today said it will open its second Star Decorators Wholesale Warehouse in Atlanta in September. The 38,000-square-foot store will carry more than 15,000 skus for interior decorators and designers, retail florists and floral designers, wedding and event planners, gift shop owners and other décor professionals.

The new store will be located on Ellsworth Industrial Boulevard. The prototype store is located near Michael's headquarters on the Stemmons Freeway in Dallas.

The concept is "distinctly different from the company's retail stores in design, products, service and ambience," according to a company release. The operation also has its own merchandising team under the direction of Duane Hiemenz, senior vp of new business development.

To introduce itself to the Atlanta market, the company will have a booth at the Atlanta International Gift and Home Furnishings Market at America's Mart from July 11 to 15. The booth number will be 1-8-L24.
