Sales Rep Organization Takes Shape at cmi

For the first time in several years, braided texture rug manufacturer cmi is branching out its sales staff to include a crew of 19 independent sales representatives based around the country.

The company has long relied on its own, internal sales staff, which includes Gregg Scarlata and Meredith Thayer, the national sales managers who focus on large, specific accounts.

But to “best maximize” cmi’s recent growth, the company said, it had to significantly expand its sales force.

“This change was made to ensure we’re marketing the cmi brand to all the 'mom and pop’ stores and the medium-sized retailers,” said Donald Scarlata, president and ceo.

“We now feel we have a team in place that can best satisfy our customers’ needs while communicating the many benefits of 'braided’ as a construction, not a style.”

The sales staff — new and existing — report to Roy Evans, vp of sales and marketing. The new independent sales reps, and their respective sales territories and/or assigned retail channels, are as follows:
