Robt Allen@Home wins Nautica fabrics license

By Staff -- Home Textiles Today, 11/3/2003 12:00:00 AM

Robert Allen@Home has been named the licensee for the Nautica Home Collection brand in decorative fabrics.

The partnership with The Robert Allen Group "will enable us to enter the growing decorative home fabric market," said David Chu, founder, designer of the Nautica brand and ceo.

The fabrics, to be launched in full at Showtime in January in High Point, NC, are shown in two collections.

The Hamilton group of about 45 skus, is a more traditional, signature Nautica look, said Andy Pacuk, senior vp, product development for Robert Allen. It is inspired by Bermuda and includes a mix of wovens, prints, plaids and checks are bold graphic looks, a cableknit, and floral.

Bali is a collection of prints and wovens that have more exotic looks, inspired by the Indonesian island with ethnic moods and tonal effects, in a range of 47 skus. Many have corresponding items in finished home textiles products.

Parts of the collections were previewed on upholstered furniture at Lexington, the Nautica furniture licensee.

Robert Allen@Home will market the collection to home furnishings manufacturers and retailers, Pacuk added.
