At the New York Market — The first Levi's Home collection makes its debut this week at the 7th Avenue showroom of Algo Group, Levi's licensee for the collection.
Algo Group is one of Canada's largest apparel manufacturers and importers. Last year, the group recorded sales of approximately $45 million(US) through its four segments: fashion fabrics, sportswear, ladies fashion apparel, and licensed brands. About half of its sales come from outside Canada, and it operates showrooms in Vancouver, New York, Mexico City, Shanghai and Osaka.
The company is publicly traded on the Montreal and Toronto stock markets.
Its license with denim lifestyle brand powerhouse Levi Strauss covers U.S. distribution of bedding, decorative accessories, window treatments and scatter rugs. The collection targets better specialty and department stores, according to Robert Puchkoff, Algo's president of Levi Home.
“Our idea is to develop key partnerships,” he said.
He described the line as hip and fashionable, but expects it to resonate with consumers of all ages. “In the jeans market, a 50-year-old will wear the same fashion as someone who's 25,” he noted.
At Market, Algo is showing six beds that will be ready to ship for Holiday 2006 as well as key item dec pillows and curtains.
We would love your feedback!
