Jiangnan, China —
Veken Group last month prevailed in court case involving intellectual property rights for patent protections on its "corral fleece" blanket technology.
The Intermediate People's Court of Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province, fined a rival manufacturer (unnamed) 200,000 RMB, or approximately $29,000 and ordered the party to immediately cease infringing on Veken's patent.
"Coral fleece" technology developed by Veken was granted a patent by the State Intellectual Property Office for the People's Republic of China in July 2006. The patent gives Veken the exclusive right to the patented technology for 20 years, or through May 18, 2025.
The technology produces blankets with a soft, plumy pile that resist shedding, pilling and color fade, according to Veken.
The company said the latest case is one of many it is pursuing to protect its patent. The company said it plans to intensify its effort to ensure IPR protection for its products and patented techniques.
We would love your feedback!
