Kmart taps Firment for new senior vp position

TROY, MI —

Kmart announced the promotion of Barbara Firment to the position of senior vp, advertising, sales and in-store presentation.

Firment will continue to report directly to James Adamson, Kmart chairman and ceo. Her responsibilities will include overseeing the weekly circular, newspaper advertising, direct mail production and in-store events and signage.

Firment joined Kmart as merchandise associate in 1970 and has held positions of increasing responsibility throughout her career, most recently as vp, advertising and in-store event marketing.
