LFP lays off pillow exec

Staff -- Home Textiles Today, 7/9/2001 12:00:00 AM

The fire that razed the Latex Foam Product manufacturing facility in April has resulted in the layoff of one of the company's sales executives.

Tom McCain, sales manager, pillows, for the latex foam manufacturer, was let go as a direct result of the fire, said Pete DiMarco, gm/coo. McCain had been an employee of LFP, based here, for five-and-a-half years and had played a key role in the marketing agreement between DuPont Sleep Products and LFP.

"It was his idea [to enter the agreement with DuPont]," McCain said. "This is a very unfortunate event from our standpoint."

Replacing McCain at the sales manager's position will be Maureen Coffey, who has been with LFP for 15 years.
