Design Within Reach names new chief

SAN FRANCISCO -- Design Within Reach today named Tara Poseley its president and CEO, effective Oct. 1. Current chief Wayne Badovinus will assume the role of chairman of the board from John Hansen, who will remain on the board.

Poseley joined Design Within Reach in a year ago as vice president of merchandising responsible for the overall strategic direction of the Company's product offerings, management of the buying team and relations with vendors. She also oversaw the company’s recent introduction of bedding. Her career in the retail industry began in 1989 at Gap, where she spent 15 years and in various senior roles as well as product development.

Chief Financial Officer Ken La Honta will add the title of chief operating officer. Wanda Gierhart was promoted to executive vice president of marketing and merchandising. Ray Brunner was promoted to executive vice president of real estate and Studio operations. All will report to Poseley.
