Soft-Tex Takes Royal Velvet License

New York — Soft-Tex Manufacturing has landed the license to produce and distribute Royal Velvet and Royal Velvet Big and Soft brands synthetic pillows, mattress pads, and mattress covers in all materials including Visco memory foam.
The product will be available to ship in spring 2007.
“The line will be produced with an eye towards elegance and quality and will offer significant value to both the retailer and customer,” according to the announcement by Official Pillowtex LLC, owner and licensor of the brands.
Recommended retail prices in the pillow category range from $9.99 to $24.99 standard. Mattress pads are expected to retail from $19.99 to $89.99 twin. In memory foam, pillows will range from $29.99 to $79.99 standard, with mattress pads/toppers ranging from $79.99 to $199.99 twin.
“The addition of the Royal Velvet to our stable of brands is an exciting way to mark our 20th anniversary as a company,” stated Arthur Perry, president and co-owner of Soft-Tex Manufacturing.
Soft-Tex also plans to expand its New York showroom to a larger and more modern space at 230 Fifth Avenue, and is preparing to move its manufacturing facility to a new 120,000-sq.-ft. factory space outside of Albany, N.Y.
The license for Royal Velvet down and down alternative bed covering and sleep pillows is held by Blue Ridge Home Fashions.
