HFPA grants scholarships

NEW YORK —
The Foundation of the Home Fashions Products Association has awarded three $1,000 scholarships to students enrolled in home textile surface design curriculums at the Fashion Institute of Technology here.
Scholarship recipients are Fumiko Ino from Bronxville, NY; Gintare Blazyte from Woodhaven, NY; and Oana Babeti from New York City. Babeti and Blazyte will graduate this year; Ino in 2003.
Among the members of the HFPA Scholarship committee, who reviewed applications and essays and met with over 12 students to view their designs, are Carl Goldstein, S. Lichtenberg & Co. (co-chair); Amanda Houk, S. Lichtenberg & Co. (co-chair); Julie Sanderson and Anna Warburton, Martha Stewart Home, Joe Mattera, Covington Industries and Nancy Ebert, HFPA.
