Bolton bolts for post with Lanscot-Arlen

Staff -- Home Textiles Today, 10/28/2002 12:00:00 AM

Al Bolton has joined Lanscot-Arlen as director of international sales, a new position.

Bolton, who has been with Microfibres since August 1992, mostly recently was vp, international sales. Earlier he was with Furniture/Today, a sibling publication to Home Textiles Today, from 1983 to 1992, when he was associate publisher, leaving to join Microfibres.

He reports to Clement Ramdin, chairman and ceo of Lanscot-Arlen.

Ramdin said "Al will be doing a lot more than international sales for us. He will be a major asset as we move forward in growing the company. He's a great plus for us."

In addition to managing the company's agents globally, he will be heavily involved in product direction, Ramdin added.

Ramdin, Lanscot president Bob Woodcock and Equity Capital Partners acquired the company from founder Saul Nulman and Glenda Kirby in September 2000. The converter serves decorative jobbers, home furnishings suppliers in bedding, table linens, window coverings and bedding, and the furniture and apparel industries.

Despite the challenges facing American decorative fabrics companies in the global marketplace, Ramdin said, "We have to march forward. We had a decent year last year."
