Jo-Ann Stores promotes Smith to president

Hudson, Ohio —
Jo-Ann Stores' chief operating officer Travis Smith is adding president to his title, effective Jan. 31.
Smith will add oversight of information technology to his current oversight of marketing, merchandising, sourcing, inventory management, supply chain and store operations. He joined the company as executive vp of merchandising and marketing in July 2006. He was named coo in February 2009. Before Jo-Ann, Smith was senior vp of general merchandise for Fred Meyer.
“The promotion of Travis acknowledges the outstanding business results our company has achieved under his inspired leadership,” said Darrell Webb, chairman and ceo.
