New York – Veteran decorative fabrics executive Burt Kaplan will leave Portfolio Fabrics, the converter fabric division of Kravet, where he has been president since 2004.
Kravet, a major player in the high-end decorative fabrics business -- as well as in furniture, trimmings and floor coverings -- geared toward the interior designer community, will continue to operate Portfolio under the direction of the Kravet family, said Cary Kravet, a company principal.
The company will retain its showroom in High Point, N.C., where it is an exhibitor at Showtime.
Kaplan said “I don’t want to work full time. I am looking at consulting or project work after I leave on June 1.”
Before joining Portfolio, Kaplan was a principal in Artisan Home Fashions, a design and marketing company. Earlier, his fabric experience included executive posts with Richloom and Joan Fabrics.
We would love your feedback!
