Gilmartin to head home at new concept

NEWARK, Calif. — Retail veteran Jane Gilmartin has been senior vice president and gmm of home for dd's Discounts, the new retail concept by Ross Stores Inc. that will target low-income households.
Gilmartin most recently was president and CEO of International Art and president and chief merchandising officer of Service Merchandise. She previously held senior merchandising positions at Bed Bath & Beyond, Linens 'n Things and Fortunoffs.
Gilmartin's was one of four executive appointments announced today. Also new to the dd's Discount team is Fred Shuey, who has been named vice president of stores. He was previously executive regional director at Linens 'n Things. He also held field operations management positions with Staples, Circuit City and Sears.
In addition, Ross promoted Barbara Rentler senior vice president and chief merchandising officer. She was previously senior vice president and gmm of ladies. Douglas Baker was promoted to senior vice president and gmm for ready-to-wear. He was previously vice president and gmm for juniors.
