Target aims low on January comp sales
-- Home Textiles Today, 1/22/2008 12:58:00 PM
Minneapolis – Upscale discounter Target said it expects final January comparative store sales to be “near the low end of the previously specified range of -1% to +1%.”
Target made the statement on its final mid-month sales recording, which combined actual results for the two weeks ended Jan. 19 with the outlook for the remaining two weeks. Starting in February, Target will no longer provide such outlooks.
Actual sales results for January (the retail month ends Feb. 2) will be reported on Thursday, Feb. 7.
