Pioneer Licensee Howard Kaplan Dies

Services were held here for Howard Kaplan, 64, founder of Howard Kaplan Fabrics who died April 28.
In the early '80s, Kaplan was one of the first licensees of a decorative fabrics converter to market print-downs to manufacturers. In 2000, the company was sold to P/Kaufmann, and now has become the ready-made home textiles division of the company, Bloomcraft Home Fashions.
Survivors include his wife Joan, two sons and a daughter. His son Michael is executive vice president of Bloomcraft Home.
