Intertextil Shanghai Creating Product Zones

The Intertextil Shanghai Home Textile show set for Aug. 25–27 is making some changes this year.
New to this year's fair are international brands in the Brand Bedding and Towelling Hall. More than 60 selected international and domestic labels such as Lenzing and Kuan's Living will be showcased in there.
In addition, curtain and upholstery manufacturers will be group into product zones together with international groups and pavilions from Germany, Pakistan, Taiwan and Turkey, plus individual exhibitors from Europe and Australia in the international halls.
Chinese suppliers will be grouped into: Curtain Zone; Down Products Zone; Functional Home Textiles Products Zone; Upholstery Zone; and seven regional pavilions.
"Despite the downturn in the global economy, China's Gross Domestic Production is forecasted to maintain a steady growth rate of 6.5% in 2009. Most significantly, home textile imports for the first two months of this year increased by 72% compared to the same period as last year," according to Messe Frankfurt, which is the fair organizer along with the Sub-Council of Textile Industry, CCPIT and China Home Textile Association (CHTA).
