Invista promotes four executives

By Staff -- Home Textiles Today, 1/26/2004 12:00:00 AM

WILMINGTON, Del. — Four Invista executives — William Ghitis, David Trerotola, Kenneth Wall and Alan Wolk — have accepted new positions at Invista, pending successful completion of the Invista sale to subsidiaries of Koch Industries.

Each of the four will report to Jeff Walker, who is slated to be Invista’s chairman and CEO after the sale, which is expected to be finalized in the first half of this year.

This announcement follows news by DuPont that Gary M. Pfeiffer, senior vice president and chief financial officer of DuPont, will assume operating responsibility for Invista, in addition to his current assignment, from now until completion of the sale. Steven R. McCracken, formerly Invista’s president, will pursue other interests following the completion of the sale, but until then will remain on the Invista Board of Directors and provide support during the transition.

William Ghitis, will continue to lead Invista Apparel, with responsibility for Lycra, Elaspan, and T400, and will assume profit and loss responsibility for polyester and nylon specialty fibers. Bill will be based in the Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey tri-state area.

David Trerotola, currently leading the Home and Industrial Textiles business for Invista, will be promoted to lead Invista Performance Fibers. In his new role, Dave will be responsible for managing market segments including airbags, sewing thread, military products, non-woven/personal care products, and technical and industrial products.

Kenneth Wall will continue to lead Invista Intermediates. He will be based in Wichita, Kan. and will oversee the nylon and polyester intermediates production, along with the nylon C12, adipic, diamine, and Terathane specialties.

Alan Wolk will continue to lead Invista Interiors. From a base in Atlanta, Ga., Alan will be responsible for the global flooring business, including residential, commercial, area rugs and transportation; in addition, Alan will manage home furnishings, comprised of sleep products and furniture segments.
