Federated promotes Walker to vp post

CINCINNATI —
Federated Department Stores has named Cynthia Walker to the new position of vp of area research.
She will oversee sales forecasting for new stores, store remodels and expansions, acquisitions and divestures, as well as helping to guide strategic growth opportunities and the allocation of capital to promote top-line growth.
She will continue to report to Ron Tysoe, vice chairman of Federated.
Walker joined Federated in 1995 as director of area research and was named divisional vp in 1998.
