PDK Worldwide buys Regency

FALL RIVER, Mass. — Quilt specialist PDK Worldwide has purchased Regency Home Fashions, a small bedding manufacturer that produces moderately-priced coordinating comforters, bedspreads, decorative pillows, dust ruffles and window treatments.

As a result, PDK will combine its showroom with Regency's space on the 17th floor of 261 Fifth Ave., nearly doubling its size and providing additional room to highlight the various product lines. PDK CEO Paul Zheng said, "Although the acquisition is very close to the upcoming October market, we will be ready to bring the two companies together and present our new product."

According to company executives, the acquisition will expand PDK's capabilities and allow it to bring its design and manufacturing to the Regency line and customer base.

Zheng continued, "Our product base will still be quilts, which will continue to be our core product, but the addition of Regency gives us expanded capabilities to satisfy the needs of a more diversified bedding market."
