Washington -- The American Manufacturing Trade Action Coalition (AMTAC) and the Unites States Industrial Fabrics Institute have endorsed the expansion of the Berry Amendment, a measure to mandate the purchasing of domestic-only products for a range of shelter, utility and comfort functions by the employees of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
The current law applies Department of Defense buying rules to purchases made by the U.S. Coast Guard and the Transportation Security Administration. The extension, introduced today by Rep. Robin Hayes of North Carolina, would broaden its application to all other agencies under the DHS umbrella.
We would love your feedback!
