Sferra Sets up for Spring 2010

Staff -- Home Textiles Today, 12/14/2009 12:00:00 AM

Sferra is emphasizing sumptuousness in its core brand and old world design in its 1891 brand for spring 2010.

The Sferra Simone cotton sateen duvet cover features a special blend of 100% Egyptian cotton yarns woven in Italy. The deep blue hue is set off with scrolling light green leaves and pale blooms.

The top-of-bed print collection includes three 100% Egyptian cotton offerings. Bimini employs color-colored flowers and lush leaves scattered across the face of the duvet cover. Mallory is a tonal print of tropical leaves and grasses. Susannah offers cheerful pansies in a multitude of colors with flanged edges accents with a double row of topstitching.

In sheets, the new Adrien updates the Celeste percale sheet with three rows of hand drawn-work hemstitch suggestive of antique, hand-made sheets. Large also updates Celeste with coral and yellow blooms trailing along the European return of the flat sheet and on the pillowcase borders.

1891 by Sferra bedding is dubbed "The Bon Voyage Collection" and is inspired by Jazz Age influences that came out of New York and Paris from 1915 to 1940.

"The art deco design style really lends itself well to interpretations into bed linens," said Aaron Sewart, creative director.

The Monmartre duvet cover recasts a traditional urn and flower motif with greens, reds, yellows and purples. The Port O' Call quilt in ivory contrasts the vivid tone of the duvet cover.

Broadway uses fan-shaped flowers and two-toned leaves on a blue sateen ground. It is paired with the Port O' Call quilt in white.

Sferra has also added to its Grande Hotel collection with Grande Hotel Baby, with shames and quilts and blue or pink.
