William Manning dead

MACON, GA -Textiles veteran William Manning, formerly of Spartan Mills, died earlier this month.
Sinkler retired in 1996 as vice-chairman of Spartan Mills. In addition to Spartan Mills, he served with Milliken and Company, Burlington Industries, and as president and Chairman of the Bibb Company here from 1970 to 1985.
Sinkler was a member and former president of the Georgia Textile Manufacturers Association. He also served on the board of the National Association of Manufacturers and the American Textile Manufacturers' Association.
Manning, a native of Spartanburg, SC, graduated from the Baylor School, attended Princeton University, and graduated from North Carolina State University.
