Ikea breaks ground in Centennial, Colo.

-- Home Textiles Today, 5/5/2010 8:52:00 AM

Centennial, Colo. – Swedish home furnishings designer and retailer Ikea this week broke ground on what will be its 38th store in the U.S.

The unit will be the company’s first in the country to incorporate a geothermal component as part of its heating/cooling system, meaning heat will be pumped either from or into the ground, depending on the weather.

Located in suburban Denver, the store is scheduled to open in fall 2011.
