NEW YORK —
Designer's East, a consulting and sourcing firm with offices here and in New Delhi, will introduce its first home textiles collection during the New York Home Textiles Market.
Introductions will include bedding, pillows, window covering and tabletop aimed at the mid-tier, specialty and catalog channels. Among the highlights this market will be a newly developed sueded chenille and a paper taffeta construction.
The debut collection "has been designed to offer new concepts to the 'core' product structure that retailers constantly need at prices that are extremely competitive," said Fran Shenker, a partner in the company along with product develop veteran Anne Bertsch.
"I have always believed that developing merchandise in India need not be for price alone," added Bertsch. "I think our line includes practical fabrics that have been developed by us in addition to the trims and embellishments that make Indian products special."
The company's Bed Dressing collection, which debuted during the spring market, will continue to be shown at Scala International. The Designer's East collection will be shown at the Le Marquis Hotel.
We would love your feedback!
