President: Greg Haft
Principal businesses: top of bed, bedspreads
With manufacturing operations in Mexico, sourcing operations in place with various Asian and South American manufacturers and its eye on Pakistan, India, Brazil and China as other sources, Haywin Textile Products firmly believes global sourcing is here to stay.
According to Greg Haft, president and ceo, domestic producers are having a difficult time being globally competitive when it comes to price, and as a result, the home textiles market is going roughly through the same transition that the apparel industry went through more than a decade ago.
"Basically, import programs and offshore products are playing more and more key roles within the industry." Haft said.
For now, Haft also said, Haywin will continue to grow and develop its presence in Mexico as well as its global sourcing efforts.
"Noone in our industry can ignore globalization," Haft said. "Each business needs to determine to what extent it needs to be playing in that global market."
