Stone Brook branches out

By Staff -- Home Textiles Today, 11/19/2001 12:00:00 AM

Cedar Knolls, NJ — At barely two years old, Stone Brook Linens is broadening its product assortment beyond its staple line of table linens, first with the launch at fall market of Egyptian bath towels and next with the coming preview of kitchen textiles.

"We got into towels originally just as an added feature to help drum up more business," said Anthony Abbadessa, vp of product development. "We'll be getting into kitchen textiles probably with a preview in April and an official launch in October."

Stone Brook officially launched its towel line in April with its Galant collection of 100 percent cotton towels made in India and available in seven colorways — a move the company made at the last minute, Abbadessa said.

In October, it added a collection of 100 percent Egyptian cotton towels called Nova, also imported from India.

Price points for bath towels average $7 for the Galant collection and $9 for the Nova collection.

In other Stone Brook news, the company recently relocated its New Jersey-based headquarters to Cedar Knolls from Edison. Its shipping facility remains in Wayne, NJ.
