NEW YORK —
Raymond Waites licensee Next Creations will introduce its second bedding line for the designer's collection.
Next Creations is owned by Michael Vidra, executive vp and a principal of Raymond Waites Designs. Kevin Sapin is executive vp of the firm, which has its new showroom on the 14th floor at 230 Fifth Ave.
The 2,500-square-foot showroom will showcase seven new bedding ensembles in comforters and duvet covers as well as a 240-count Egyptian cotton sateen solid in 10 colors. The sheeting will range from the 240-count to a 310-count Egyptian cotton sateen.
The bedding will be on four-poster beds and other furniture designed by Waites for furniture licensee LaneVenture. Wallpaper will be from another licensee, Imperial.
The top-of-bed designs "are translations of Raymond's designs for Swavelle/ Mill Creek printed on a cotton jacquard base cloth," Sapin said.
Price points for queen comforters will be $199 to $299, queen duvet covers $99 to $199, and queen sheets $69 to $129.
The Waites bedding collection was started last year by Vidra and is produced in Israel. "I've known Kevin for many years. He worked for me when I headed [now defunct] Cohama-Riverdale, and he also was a sales executive for Sure Fit," Vidra said. While he is currently the sole owner, Vidra added, "I will introduce new shareholders in this firm — Kevin and Raymond Waites Designs."
The initial bedding collection from Next Creations was sold on a limited basis to better stores, Vidra noted.
