Hollander Readies Court of Versailles Introductions

-- Home Textiles Today, 3/9/2010 12:00:00 AM

Hollander Home Fashions is launching its new basic bedding collection for Court of Versailles during market in a display capsule inspired by the Hall of Mirrors in Versailles while reflecting modern times.

“Our overall theme for market this year is re-invention.” stated Beth Mack, chief merchandising officer of Hollander Home Fashions. “Part of our re-invention will be the launch of the Court of Versailles brand imparting an overall newness to basic bedding and adding a fresh and luxurious statement to a value driven product that our consumer wants.” Mack continued, “Hollander's focus is to expand at the upper end, by focusing on design differentiation and adding a luxury quotient to not-so-basic bedding.”

Among the new offerings is Royal Damask, a 400-count jacquard blending silk and cotton with double needle stitching and decorative twist cording. The line includes a European white goose down comforter, goose down and synthetic filled pillows and oversized European squares. The line's mattress pad is outfitted with the Bedglove stretchable skirt to accommodate any size mattress, is filled with Hollander's dual layer gel top Clusterpuff and gusseted for extra loft. The original pattern was created for Versailles in the Lyon Silk Workshops in the late 17th century.

Victory Wreath evokes the Napoleonic era with a 400-count jacquard employing an overall leaf design and cording. Gusseted pillows are available in either synthetic or natural fill. The mattress pad uses Nanotex stain resist and release technology with anti-microbial fill as well as the the Bedglove stretchable fit.

Finally, Iconic Batiste is a lighter, 375-count cotton batiste with a diamond and coin quilted pattern filled with Hungarian white goose down and Invista Silky Soft.

“No attention to detail has been overlooked in developing a comprehensive collection of natural and synthetic filled bed pillows, comforters, and mattress toppers. We are positioning this brand to appeal to the consumer looking for luxury in basic bedding.” said Louis Smith, Hollander's vp of brand management.
