Textillery Weavers Honored by Regional Council

By Staff -- Home Textiles Today, 7/7/2008 12:00:00 AM

The owners of high-end, hand-woven throw manufacturer Textillery Weavers — John and Judith Rose — were recently honored with the 2008 Arts Leadership Award from Indiana's Bloomington Area Arts Council (BAAC).

Recognized for their significant contributions to the arts in south central Indiana, the couple was presented with the special Arts Advocate Award during a black-tie gala earlier this month.

The Roses, who together founded Textillery Weavers in 1978, are said to be dedicated supporters of the arts culture and economy in south central Indiana, including their contribution to the Rose Firebay Theater at Bloomington's Waldron Arts Center.

Textillery president John Rose said, "We are deeply committed to the ongoing development of the arts in this region which has been such an integral part of our own business success over the years."

Textillery weaves all its designs — more than 600 styles and 75 solid color in its hand-woven collections — in the United States and all hand-woven goods are made exclusively in Textillery's facility here.
