Concord, N.C. —
Heritage House/ITC has purchased Belle Fabrics International, an importer of high-end upholstery fabrics.
Belle Fabrics, owned by Jeff Haber, imports fabrics from Italy, Belgium, India and China for distribution to decorative jobbers and furniture manufacturers. Purchase price was not disclosed.
"Belle will be operated as a separate division, and will continue to focus on the markets it serves, as we did when we purchased International Textile Corp. in October 2004," said Tom Hilb, ceo of Heritage House/ITC.
Haber will assist during the transition.
The new division will be housed in New York at the company's showroom and in the company's High Point, N.C., showroom in Market Square Tower. Inventory is being consolidated here.
"We're building a new state-of-the-art warehouse/office building here," said Hilb. It will be 50,000 square feet with 35-foot clearance, with 6,000 square feet for office space." Scheduled to be occupied by the first quarter of 2009, it also can double in size when needed, he said.
We would love your feedback!
