The Curtain Exchange marks 10 years

By Staff -- Home Textiles Today, 9/5/2008 1:44:00 PM

Dallas – The Curtain Exchange, a specialty retailer offering handcrafted, custom curtain treatments, is celebrating its tenth anniversary this month.

Founded in September 1998 by Georgina Callan, the first boutique opened in New Orleans, providing consumers with no-wait curtains of varying lengths to take home and test for fit and style.

Headquartered in Dallas since the Hurricane Katrina disaster of 2005, the service-driven company now oversees more than 20 locations in Atlanta; Denver; Oklahoma City; St. Louis; Louisville, Ky.; Memphis and Nashville, Tenn.; Naperville, Ill.; Plano and Sugar Land, Texas; Birmingham, Ala.; Charleston and Columbia S.C.; New Orleans and Baton Rouge, La.; Tampa and Stuart, Fla.; Philadelphia; Bernardsville and Ridgewood, N.J.; Saratoga Springs and Scarsdale, N.Y.; and Westport, Conn.

The Curtain Exchange boutiques are a mix of company-owned and franchisees. Each location provides custom-made curtains, shades and hardware as well as consultation and installation service.

While fabrics are sourced internationally, the company said, “every curtain is made in the U.S.A.”
